Action Park

Known as Action Park, the Mountain Creek Water Park in Vernon New Jersey is an exciting theme park with fun, aggressive rides. Different than other water theme parks, Action Park uses 36 acres of natural terrain for their wild water slides. Because of the up and down terrain in this park, just walking around from ride to ride is a work out.

Rides

The steep terrain provides for tremendous speeds on some of these slides. The Bombs Away ride is a short slide with an abrupt end that sends its passengers down a 15 foot free-fall into a gulch. Cannon Ball Falls looks tame, but accelerates quickly. A family raft ride called the Colorado River causes family members to hang on to the raft and each other while it wildly careens down the river. For the less adventurous, there are plenty of tame rides like the lazy river.

Location and times

Action Park is located in northern New Jersey about an hour away from New York City. For the GPS user, its physical address is 200 Route 94 in Vernon, New Jersey. The park is open from June through September. Check with Mountain Creek for exact operating days. Admission for children and seniors is reduced, and ages two and under are free.
