Amusement Parks

New Jersey offers many attractions for tourists, including a long and beautiful beach shore, but the large selection of amusement parks brings in millions of tourists of every year. A substantial portion of New Jersey's economy depends on the success of these parks, and that importance is reflected in the rich delights these family theme parks offer.
Six Flags
Six Flags, the largest chain of theme parks in the world, owns several locations, and New Jersey hosts one of the flagship centers. Kingda Ka, the premier roller coaster of the park, is the tallest and second fastest coaster in the world. Riders plummet at speeds exceeding 128 miles per hour and rise to heights of almost 500 feet. Another classic ride is El Toro, among the most popular wooden roller coasters in the world and one that specializes in making riders feel weightless and ejected, giving the illusion of danger while keeping riders perfectly safe.
Wild Safari Park and Hurricane Harbor
Wild Safari includes a drive-thru safari that stretches almost five miles long. In what is considered the longest drive-thru safari park outside of Africa, multiple sections present over a thousand individual animals, ranging from lions to elephants to aardvarks. Hurricane Harbor is adjacent to the Six Flags portion; offering the perfect refuge for a family on a hot summer day, it features numerous water slides, wave pools and children's rides.
Visiting these three parks in New Jersey promises to delight a family for days, but the state also includes several other marvelous parks. For one of the smallest states in the country, New Jersey certainly boasts a generous share of entertainment locations.
