Cape May Point State Park

New Jersey's beautiful coast is known for Hallmark style rocky beaches with a rolling fog and lighthouses that stand as a giant protector to incoming ships. One such state park with one of these lighthouses is the famous Cape May Point State Park. Located in Cape May Point, New Jersey it is one of the major attractions for visitors to New Jersey.

Hours and location

The park is open daily from dawn to dusk, but if you want to go the museum or talk to someone from the office, then you need to show up between 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. To get there go to the southern end of the Garden State parkway over the Cape May Bridge onto Lafayette Street, bear right at the intersection onto County Route 606, then left onto Lighthouse Avenue.

Activities

There are a wide variety of things to do while you are visiting Cape May Point State Park. Check out the coastal ponds, dunes and forests while you are there. Visit the 157 foot high lighthouse with an amazing view in all directions, although you have to climb 199 steps first. There are also various trails, a museum, picnic tables, a WWII bunker and fishing available if you are interested.

Make your trip to New Jersey one to remember and go visit the Cape May Point State Park. The view from the lighthouse is worth the trip alone, but do not stop there. Ponds, dunes and a scenic forest await.
