Corson's Inlet State Park

New Jersey's Corson's Inlet State Park is located on the barrier island of Ocean City. Visitors can enjoy stunning natural beauty and numerous activities in the 341 acre park.

Park history

Established in the 1960s, Corson's Inlet State Park was created to protect one of the last remaining undeveloped shorelines of New Jersey. The park preserves sand dunes, marine estuaries and upland areas, providing nesting sites for several species of birds including the endangered Piping Plover.

Park activities

Visitors to the park can enjoy swimming and sunbathing on the beach, hiking and wildlife viewing. Fishing is a popular activity and anglers catch king fish, blue fish, weakfish and striped bass in this area. The park is also an ideal area for water sports including jet skiing, sailing and kayaking.

Hours

The park is open daily from dawn to dusk, except for the boat ramp which remains open 24 hours. Ocean City sponsored guided beach tours are available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in July and August. The tours cost $1 for adults and 50 cents for children. The state of New Jersey has imposed a carry in/carry out policy to keep the park clean, and bags are provided throughout the area.

Ocean City

Nearby Ocean City is considered America's greatest family resort. Frommer's has recognized the city as a "charming boardwalk town", and the Travel Channel listed it as "one of America's top family beaches." The boardwalk is lined with various shops, amusement park rides, miniature golf courses and a water park.

Visitors to Corson's Inlet State Park enjoy the natural beauty of miles of undeveloped beaches, hiking and water sports. The area is teaming with wildlife and acts as a conservatory to many species of birds.
