Monmouth Battlefield State Park

One of the great battles of the American Revolution took place on the gentle landscape of what is now Monmouth Battlefield State Park in New Jersey. Located near Manalapan, NJ., the countryside remains much as it was in the 18th Century, taking the visitor back in time to witness where a pastoral setting of woods, hedgerows and meadows met one of the great battles that shaped American history.
Monmouth Battle reenactment
A reenactment of the battle takes place yearly in late June, offering a unique opportunity to step back in time and experience part of America's past. Park guests can see history at its bloodiest and most dramatic when they witness this exciting and realistic battle.
Programs
Monmouth Battlefield State Park entices visitors with a wide variety of programs and educational experiences. Nature and history hikes are offered, as are horseback trail rides and birding excursions. Lectures on the Monmouth Battle and an Interpretive Center are also available. U-Pick orchards
Battleview Orchards are maintained by the Applegate family. They offer visitors the opportunity to pick their own fruit from May through October. Visitors can glean strawberries starting in May, and as the seasons progress there are cherries, nectarines, peaches and finally apples.
